About NobleGround

NobleGround was established in 2008 by graduates of the Kubert School of Comic Art, Helsa Ahmadi and George Bough, as a platform for artistic and professional collaboration. We specialize in traditional, mixed media and digital illustration as well as comic art, color art, printmaking and publishing. We have fostered working relationships with Strand Comics of Norway as well as influential Scandinavian comic artists Børge Lund and Stein Arne Hove.

Our color work has appeared regularly in the Norwegian publications Dagbladet, Pondus, Rutetid and VG since 2009. During that time our work has also been published in the following publications: Lunch books #1-3 and Lunch: En Litten Bok Om Gode Kolleger by Børge Lund, Danse Macabre by White Wolf Publishing, Bergens Tidende, Rogalands Avis, Teknisk Ukeblad (Technical Weekly Magazine), Vi Menn (Us Men Magazine), Hjemmet Mortensen, Snorres Kongesagaer Høydepunkter by Jørn Andersen, Für Sie (German womens magazine), articfemme.no, lunchstriper.no and dagbladet.no.

Who is NobleGround?

About Helsa

Helsa Ahmadi is an illustrator born in Iran, raised in Norway and educated in Spain, US and Canada. Her interest in art comes from a familial and cultural history of story-telling, mythology and folktales. Her work has been published in Norway, Germany and US. She is currently enrolled in the fourth year of the printmaking program at Emily Carr University in Vancouver BC.

About George

George Bough was raised in Upstate New York and has lived and worked in Norway, New Jersey, the Adirondacks and Vancouver BC. He's worked as a penciler, inker and colorist for Joe Kubert's studio, Tell-A-Graphics, lead a 150 ft historic mural project for the Oswego Chamber of Commerce and Fire Department, as well as freelanced as a comic artist and character designer. Currently, George is juggling developing material for a number of independent projects while coloring a steady stream of comics.
